102nd Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division
Plot D, Row 24, Grave 26
Sgt. Paul H. Maynard wrote many letters back home asking how the crops were- even as he engaged in fierce battle in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
He died on the final days of the war, killed in a battle that had begun on November 7, 1918, according to the Red Cross Letter sent to his family. Tragically, Maynard’s family was unaware of his death, as they patiently waited for their 21-year-old soldier to arrive back home after the war had ended.
Paul H. Maynard is buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery Plot D, Row 24, Grave 26.
