Pvt. Dominic Fulco arrived in the United States from Italy in 1912 at the age of 16. He enlisted at age 21 in 1917 and was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division. This division was known as the “Rock of the Marne” because of its gallant defense of the Marne River in the Aisne and Champagne-Marne Campaigns.
Fulco’s younger brother, James, ran away to Detroit to enlist in the army and join his brother, but was turned away for being underage.
Fulco died on October 23, 1918 in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
Dominic Fulco is buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery Plot F, Row 1, Grave 6.
