Pvt. Ralph Zellers was a part of the 312th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division. Born and raised in Nutley, N.J., Zellers was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Obediah Zellers. He entered the service on April 2, 1918 in Newark, N.J.

On November 4, 1918, the 312th Infantry Regiment was pushing forward in the final drive towards Sedan, when Zellers was hit. The telegram sent notifying the family of his death, reads “Died of wounds rec’d in action Nov 4/18”. He was 24 years old when he died.

Ralph Zellers is buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery Plot H, Row 32, Grave 27.
